Born in Whitby and brought up in Scarborough, I became a Christian in a dramatic way whilst at University. I worked as an Engineer for Vickers at Barrow, building nuclear submarines, and was involved in Youth work in a local Church there. With peace breaking out all over the world in the early 90s I moved with my young family to Sheffield to work in another engineering company. Later I felt God’s call to ministry, and trained at Durham before becoming curate at St. Polycarp’s Malin Bridge. For eight years I was the vicar at St. John’s Church in the Park and Wybourn area of Sheffield before coming to be the vicar/minister of St. Luke’s in March 2012.

One of the things I like most about my ‘job’ is the huge variety of things I do – planning and leading services, talking about Christianity in schools, supporting people on a one-to-one basis. Many of the organisational skills learnt in industry are surprisingly useful in running a busy, active Church too! If you’d like to know about what Christianity or St Luke’s in particular can do for you, then do get in touch, you can also read my blog or follow me on Twitter.
